liar liar bums on fire...

hello sweet cheeks... so i lied didn't i?! and that was in february no less...will you ever forgive me..

i do very much hope so...

i am back and typing my first post in such a long time.. i don't even have anything of great importance or great significance to report...how shameful!

what i have been doing is being a busy mummy...visits to the zoo & the farm, playing & painting, baking & family tea times have all been the order of the day just recently, and i do most strongly believe that, that, is as good of a reason as any to be away from the laptop....what say you?

in other news.. pintrest have an app!! oh my!! I downloaded it the very day it 'app'eared and well..i am super guilty of being lay in bed 'pinning' when i should be sound asleep.. it's the very best way to pass time!

my pintrest is here if you would like to stop by..

today has been a quiet day.. i have enjoyed..

eating..homemadelemon drizzle cake

sipping..cups of tea

writing..many many lists

wearing..warm clothes with big socks

listening to..the sound of silence..the wind blowing outside and the occasional car swoop down the hill at the end of the road

i'll be back soon..with words and pictures.. xx

it's a bit quiet around here...

so i have neglected this li'l space recently but i just though i'd pop in and note that i do solemnly swear that february will mark a new era in posts and pictures..brownie promise xx

thought for the day..

It's cold!!!
i think i coined the term "it's brass monkey's outside" at several points during the course of today (this, may i say is a truly accurate indication of weather conditions if ever there was one. one may also count number of times they have heard the phrase 'coined' as another clear measure if they themselves have not yet braved conditions to 'coin' from experience)
so today was officially freezing, i had to defrost my car at 6:45am before work and I had to scrape the windows again when i left work! not cool!!! (no pun intended)
now im all for a winter...christmas time...wrapping up warm in toasty blankets..drinking hot chocolate while the fire roars - what i am not for and absolutely do not like what so ever is being cold!
i would so much rather be too hot than too cold, some may disagree some may even call me mad (i can hear cries of 'oooh you can always add more layers if your too cold') but i fear if there is ever another ice age (period not movie) during my life time - well it actually doesn't bare thinking about.
so with being cold a definite temptation to leave your jacket on a wee while longer when you get inside, or put your jacket on several mins too early before you are about to head out into siberia or hat/scarf/mittens (indeed any form of Winter PPE)i might add - then take heed of my nana's firm belief:
"take your(insert PPE of choice)off love or you'll never feel the benefit when you go outside"
all keep warm tips received gratefully..
that is all xx

oh happy sunday...

oh you know its going to be a good day when you find this most prettiest pretty whilst browsing etsy & drinking a cup of tea - when i kindly asked etsy to convert the $$ to ££ for me i was even happier.....for only £46.76 + pp miss.pretty.fisheye could be mine! i got paid yesterday and im extra tempted...like more tempted than i am when i stand infront of the krspy kreme stand in selfridges thinking can i really justify £75,000 on a frosted ring of dough?!

well the little voice in my head is telling me that i can justify this sweet treat...it's the equivilant of....what? 4 boxes of krysy kremes? with the added bonus of having something to show for my purchase for a very long while!!

oh wait hang on this is not the best bit...said pretty has been made to look so sweet by the very talented robert ryan of misterrob i love his work! you can see his etsy here and his blog here! extra temptation to buy!

the only way to sort out this to buy or not to buy mess is to put the kettle back on and uumm and arrr over a spot of tea...i'll keep you posted (no pun intended!)

Tuesday, 12 October 2010

If found please return to..

so then do you ever have days where you just feel like your getting nowhere? like going to work is getting in the way of you doing what you actually want to be doing, like you have so much you want to achieve and don't know where to start, like you get home from work and instead of picking up a paint brush you fall asleep on the sofa because you've been up since the crack of dawn, like your 'to-do' list is now bigger than you (5'5'' so im kinda medium but in terms of a list that's a pretty grande list no?) like you've had a gocco printer under your bed for near enough 12months STILL yet to be played with (oh don't the voices in my head are punishment enough!) well WELCOME to my world!!
it sounds uber pathetic when you type it out - i need a giant kick up the rear!
so i feel as though i have lost my....what is it? mojo? my artistic mojo?! i think that's a safe classification for said absent personality trait! if you come across it please return it to me i will be most grateful, and will invite you in for tea and biscuits by way of thank you!
in the mean time as it seems no amount of searching can locate my personal 'scarlet pimpernel' of creativity i am going to set about creating a new one..
new season - new mojo? maybe?
wish me luck xx

Wednesday, 6 October 2010

oh autumn season of change, its like mother nature having a clear out. i could do with a clear out and a change and change of scenery. a life clear out! who knows what this season of change may bring! xx

a collection of things...

before we start, i just heard a lady on tv say that she 'hummed & harred' about whether to do something....erm.....now i don't about you but if i do have to mull things over and am of an indecisive mind then i tend to 'um & arr' do you not? also in the same programme a man has just described a 'light hole' in a roof with a noise not to dissimilar to that of a dog!

what a pointless exercise - with a sprinkle of kinda fun - try it. and if like moi you like a good list then you also might like the day zero project you set up your own little (big) list and it meaures your % rate of achievements - you list 101 things you would like to do/achieve/make/whatever and you have 1001 days in which to do them - as previously mentioned i love a list and i love 101/1001 (despite my 2% complete score to date - i have 920 days and counting and i WILL tick every box)
